Lower Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church
Edgecombe County, NC
|
| On February 15, 1758, James
Bozeman purchased 200 acres on Town Creek from Joseph Howell. He lived
on Town Creek until his death in 1784. One of his sons, Meady, also
purchased land on Town Creek in 1769. In 1777, Meady Bozeman deeded
one acre of his land to the Protestant Ana-Baptist Church on Town Creek.
This church still exists today on highway 1202 just south of the bridge over
Town Creek. |
