1820 Census: Georgia (→1830)
John Bozeman (Son of Meady & Chloe
Bozeman)
Note:
John Bozeman had a younger brother, James. I am speculating that
James was living with his brother John at the time of the 1820 census. I
have not been able to find a separate census entry for brother James.
Jas. Bozeman (Son of Samuel & Ann
Bozeman)
Note: James Bozeman and Margaret
Trant Shelton were married on February 20, 1820 so it is not likely that the male child
listed in this census is
their son. However, Margaret Trant was previously married to James D.
Shelton and they may have had
a son.
Chloe Nelson Bozeman (Widow of Meady
Bozeman, Sr.)
Chloe Nelson Bozeman, widow of Meady Bozeman, Sr., died on October 11, 1821
in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, GA. But, she does not appear in the 1820
census for Baldwin County, GA. When Meady died in 1809, the family was living in
Twiggs County, GA. It is possible that she was still living in Twiggs
County at the time of the 1820 census. The 1820 census for Twiggs County
has been lost. It is also possible that she was listed as a member of
another household - perhaps a married daughter.
Harmon W. Bozeman (Son of Harmon &
Agnes Boseman)
Note: Harmon W. Bozeman is also listed in the 1820 census
for Dallas County, Alabama. I am not sure how he can be in two
states at the same time. But, he is known to have been in Gwinnett
County, GA in 1819 and one of his daughters married in Gwinnett
County on December 23, 1823. Harmon is also known to have been in
Alabama in the 1820's. His son, Thomas, was born in Alabama on
December 21, 1820. Agnes, Harmon's mother, died in Dallas County,
Alabama in 1826. Harmon Bozeman cannot be found in either the
1830 census or the 1840 census. He is said to have moved to
Louisiana by 1830. His daughter, Ann Eliza Agnes was married and living in
New Orleans in 1830. She died in New Orleans in 1837. From land records,
we know that Harmon was definitely in Texas by 1840. However, there
was no census in Texas in 1830 or in 1840. I suppose it is possible that
there really were two different persons named Harmon W. Boseman in 1820 but I
believe that they are the same person.
Note: Harmon W. Bozeman is said to
have had a son named Harmon. However, I have no information regarding when
he was born and when he died.
Amos Bozeman (Parents unknown)
Possibly:
Son of Samuel and Rachel Bozeman
Son of William & Elizabeth Bozeman
Eli Bozeman (Parents unknown)
Note: Eli W. Bozeman
appears in the 1820 census for Putnam County, GA listed all by himself. I
do not know who his parents were or where he came from. The 1880 census
entries for two of his children both indicate that he was born in Georgia.
Elizabeth (Ward) Bozeman (Widow of Luke
Bozeman, son of Samuel & Ann Bozeman)
Etheldred Bozeman (Son of Samuel &
Ann Bozeman)
Note: I have not been able to locate the family of Etheldred
Bozeman in 1830 census.
Thomas Bosman (Parents unknown)
 | 1 Male 16-25 [HH: Thomas (→1830)] |
 | 1 Female 26-44 [Unknown] |
 | 1 Female 45&Over [Mother of Thomas?:
Sarah? (1830?)] |
Note: Thomas Bosman and two females first appear in the 1820 census for
Wilkinson County, GA. I do not know which Bozeman line this family is
descended from. Thomas married Sallie Montgomery in 1823 so the youngest
female is most likely not her. Perhaps she is a sister or maybe he was
married to someone else before he married Sallie Montgomery and the young girl
is his wife.
