| Note: I can only speculate regarding who this person is. He could be a son of Ralph Bozeman who is found in the 1790 census for St. James Goose Creek. It is also possible that Hardy Bozman is the father of Edward Bozeman who was born in SC in about 1815 who named one of his sons Hardy. | ||||||||||

| No Slaves Note: There is some speculation here, but I believe that this census entry includes the widow and children of Jesse Bozeman who is listed in the 1800 census for Darlington County and who died in 1808. But, I am not sure which children are Chapman's and which ones are Jesse's. Jesse Jordan Bozeman (born 29 Oct 1810) would be the son of Chapman. Frances would be a daughter of Jesse. I am not sure about the other children. Note: Chapman and James are listed on the same page with one entry between them. I believe that James, Chapman, and the deceased, Jesse, may have been brothers. James was the administrator of Jesse's estate. |
